This is a limited edition Jeremy Fish and Aesop Rock "The Next Best Thing" . Sold out a long time ago. Limited to 1000. Very Rare. From underground legends. This record book and record are in absolute mint condition. The record has never been played. And the book has never been read. It was never ever cracked open. It is still in original plastic wrap. The one is the photo is mine.I took pictures of mine so I wouldn't have to open a new one. I have a bunch. The one you are bidding on is brand new. When I ordered them I bought out the rest of the store. So I know they are completly sold out. And impossible to find. i will be listing them seperatly at different times.So if you miss your chance . Upper Playground is proud to present: "The Next Best Thing", a short story about the creative process by Aesop Rock and Jeremy Fish. This 24 page book comes with a 7 inch picture disk that coincides with each page of the book (ie: old school style kid's books with records for those born pre 1979! A chime was incorporated into the beat to indicate to the reader when to turn the page). Jeremy Fish and Aesop Rock were brought together by a common infatuation with the marvel-of-modern-science known as the "one-cup coffee maker." They soon learned that two creative types can do an extraordinary amount of complaining regarding their respective involvement in "the arts" over a properly constructed patty melt. Indeed, within minutes, optimistic almost-young gentlemen can morph into jaded, bickering, grumpy old men.

"The Next Best Thing" is a collaborative effort and represents a homegrown approach to "creative block" shared by the two. The artist places all half-done projects to the side and proceeds to convince him/herself that he/she will promptly hatch the greatest idea ever to have been conjured in the history of life as we know it. Once convinced that a stellar outcome is inevitable, the pistons should pump on their own.
