Description

JERRY AND THE JENTS I KNOW b/w SAXY KERSTON RECORDS 60013 | 1966
Additional Information: Very rare picture sleeve 45 by Jerry and the Jents. Released circa 1966 on German label Kerston Records (Gäa was on this label). I Know is a great garage song. Saxy is a sax intrumental ballad with reverb guitar. The band was comprised of Willie Martin, Dave Wright, Joe Apodaca, and John Shuff.
From the back sleeve - "The amazing fact behind these sounds is that the boys who created them have had no professional help. For a year the group performed, virtually unknown except for local friends. With "Donkey-Type" determination they played on, buying their instruments and paving their own way Now, finally, they break loose with Jerk-Beat "I Know", and follow with moody, slow, "Saxy". People continually ask about "Jerry." Dave explains, "Jerry is not alive, but very real. He is a small stuffed donkey we carry with us whereever we go. He is a symbol of our spirit and our love for performing."
This recording was recorded by Studio 6755 Hochspeyer - Germany. Production by Fred Kersten.
Kerston Records was Fred Kersten's label.
Vinyl looks like it's been in heat, glossy, but the record lays flat and plays VG+. The picture sleeve shows some wear. It's printed heavy gloss stock. Please refer to photos of actual item and feel free to email me with any questions.
