Description
Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 15 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room and pass it on to another collector. This week’s auctions feature my 60’s beat and psych and some 70’s progressive records that are from my own personal collection, so here we go!
On offer, a very rare first U.K. pressing of Jesus Christ Superstar on the RED & PINK MCA “Dogbone” labels, cat. no. MAPS 2011/2 with lyrics booklet and laminated cover.
The records are in EX condition, there are a couple non – sounding hairlines only. The labels are ins EX minus condition as well, there are only a few spinle marks and on side 2 and side 3, the previous owner has stamped his purchasing date and his name.
The cover is in EX minus condition, the only thing wrong with it is that the previous owner has applied a big stroke of sello tape on the bottom, probably he wanted to protect the cover and the spine is a little bleached out by sunlight. Besides these tiny defects, the cover looks brilliant. The booklet is in EX condition, besides very slight handling wear and very light age on top, there is nothing wrong with it. The original Decca Record Company inner sleeves (with STEREO and the four blue squares) are also in EX condition, there is only some very light wear in the corners.
This is the very first U.K. pressing of Jesus Christ Superstar with Deep Purple’s Ian Gillan in the role of Jesus Christ. Further there are other top artists from the progressive scene, like John Gustafson (of Quatermass) and the full line up of Nucleus. The condition of this copy is also marvellous, is a real must have for all Deep Purple or progressive music fans! Happy Bidding!
