Description
UK Island ILPS 9103, gatefold sleeve with the inside pop-up and the black & orange circle 'eye' logo on the pink labels.
This is a first pressing with matrices ILPS-9103-A and ILPS-9103-B for Sides 1 & 2 respectively on the dead wax run-offs.
The solid gatefold sleeve is made of strong card with a nice mouth and is free of writing. The inside is clean and the pop-up is very nice.
It shows some edge and corner rubbing and the rear has attracted some grubbiness and a touch of ringwear as shown. A removed price sticker top right on the front has left some discolouration but the card is not torn.
So overall I rate the sleeve 7 /10 with regards to the cosmetic blemishes.
On to the flat and shiny disc which weighs 168g on my scale. The labels are clean as shown with evidence of not much play at the spindle holes. In room daylight the vinyl looks nice yet under the evil desk lamp I see some light scuffs and hairlines with a 4mm mark across tracks 4 & 5 on Side 1. I actually played this through on my hifi and can't hear much effect on the song tracks but there is a 'click' when the needle runs on the 'dead' band between them.
As such I rate the vinyl 7/10 both visually and aurally.
Finally, on the poly-lined inner sleeve someone has neatly written the track times in pencil.
