Description

JETHRO TULL A Passion Play 1973 UK CHRYSALIS 1st PRESS w/BOOKLET

JETHRO TULL
A Passion Play

UK CHRYSALIS (CHR 1040) FIRST PRESSING (July 1973) OF JETHRO TULL'S MUCH BERATED PROG MASTERPIECE
PRESSED WITH THE FIRST ISSUE GREEN CHRYSALIS LABELS
MATRIX: CHR 1040 A-4U / CHR 1040 B-4U (the lowest matrix set for this LP)
MOTHERS/STAMPERS: 2/RM and 1/R
THE RECORD IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL MATT GATEFOLD SLEEVE WITH FACTORY SEALED FOLDED-UNDER LEFT SIDE EDGE - THE INSIDE OF THE GATEFOLD HAS TWO SLOTS WHICH HOLD THE LINWELL THEATRE 'A PASSION PLAY' 8 PAGE GLOSSY PROGRAMME
COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL PLAIN WHITE INNER SLEEVE

LABELS: EXCELLENT+
Clean, bright and unmarked labels - clearly see a few spins but only on quality equipment and extremely well cared for
VINYL Visual: NEAR MINT
Both surfaces shine like new
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT/EXCELLENT
Outstanding sound quality - one of Tull's finest produced and engineered records and my play-check at volume found little to fault - just a few minor clicks on Side Two but nothing I found too intrusive
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT+
The gatefold cover is also in great condition with unworn crisp, clean and sharp edges and spine and no surface ring wear - a really fine example with just a couple of small marks on the back reducing the grading
LINWELL THEATRE PROGRAMME: NEAR MINT
Practically untouched
