Jethro Tull Living In the Past 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION 2 LP SET
180g Vinyl Double LP!This 180g Vinyl Double LP album contains many tracks that previously only appeared as British releases before being compiled on this collection. The double album is a quasi-compilation collection by Jethro Tull, which contains album tracks, out-takes, the "Life Is a Long Song" EP, and all of their singles except for "Aeroplane", "Sunshine Day", "One for John Gee", "17" and the original United Kingdom version of "Teacher" (the United States single version was included instead).
Jethro Tull were a unique phenomenon in popular music history. Their mix of hard rock; folk melodies; blues licks; surreal, impossibly dense lyrics; and overall profundity defied easy analysis, but that didn't dissuade fans from giving them 11 gold and five platinum albums. At the same time, critics rarely took them seriously, and they were off the cutting edge of popular music since the end of the 1970s. But no record store in the country would want to be without multiple copies of each of their most popular albums (Benefit, Aqualung, Thick as a Brick, Living in the Past), or their various best-of compilations, and few would knowingly ignore their newest releases.

Jethro Tull Thick as a Brick (The 2012 Steven Wilson Stereo Remix) 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION LP WITH BOOKLET
The 2012 Steven Wilson Stereo Remix Pressed on 180g Vinyl! Includes 24-Page Booklet!
Jethro Tull's "Thick as a Brick," released in 1972, was the group's fifth studio album and is noted for containing only one song (in 2 parts).
Jethro Tull are a unique phenomenon in popular music history. Their mix of hard rock; folk melodies; blues licks; surreal, impossibly dense lyrics; and overall profundity defied easy analysis, but that didn't dissuade fans from giving them 11 gold and five platinum albums. Formed in 1967 by Ian Anderson, Jethro Tull went on to sell over 60 million albums worldwide and become one of the most commercially successful and eccentric progressive-rock bands.
Thick as a Brick is the fifth studio album by Jethro Tull, originally released in 1972 and was deliberately crafted in the style of a concept album. The original packaging was designed like a fold-out newspaper, and claims the album to be a musical adaptation of an epic poem by an 8-year old genius, though the lyrics were actually written by the band's frontman, Ian Anderson. Rolling Stone magazine called Thick as a Brick "one of rock's most sophisticated and ground-breaking products."
The 2012 Steven Wilson Remix:
Steven Wilson is a musician and producer and is well known as the founder, lead guitarist, singer and songwriter of the progressive rock band Porcupine Tree. Wilson is involved in an ongoing project remixing the back catalogue of King Crimson into MLP (Meridian Lossless Packaging) 5.1 and new stereo mixes. He is also remixing the back catalogue of Jethro Tull, including this one Thick as a Brick, in 2012.

Jethro Tull This Was 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION WITH NEW 2008 MIX LP
180g Vinyl Re-issue Of 1968 Debut Album!
"This Was" is the 1968 debut album from the group Jethro Tull now reissued on 180g vinyl with original gatefold sleeve and audio cut from 2008 stereo mix.
Early in 1968, a group of young British musicians, born from the ashes of various failed regional bands gathered together in hunger, destitution and modest optimism in Luton, North of London. With a common love of Blues and an appreciation, between them, of various other music forms, they started to win over a small but enthusiastic audience in the various pubs and clubs of Southern England. The breakthrough came when they were offered the Thursday night residency at London's famous Marquee Club in Wardour Street, Soho.
"...From the opening number to the last track, the LP is full of excitement and emotion. It starts off with "My Sunday Feeling" and has Ian Anderson on flute and vocal and a fine solo from guitarist Mick Abrahams. Ian alternates between flute and harmonica on the LP and comes across very well on these instruments and, of course, his stirring vocals... Go out and buy this record, then you will see why it entered our charts at 23 in the first week. Thoroughly recommended." - Melody Maker, November 2, 1968

40th Anniversary La Grande Edition 180g Vinyl! Remixed to Stereo by Steven Wilson!
“Aqualung” and “Thick As A Brick” tend to be cited as defining the 1970s’ Jethro Tull – but arguably “Minstrel in the Gallery” is the quintessential 1970’s Tull album.
The album contained a liberal sprinkling of the type of personal acoustic ditties which had graced the “Aqualung” album, with the string-adorned “Requiem” being possibly the most romantic song Ian had ever written, and the closing “Grace” – more whimsical in its romanticism – clocking in at a whole thirty seven seconds. And after the forty-plus minute “Thick As A Brick" and “A Passion Play” epics, Ian once again dabbled with an extended suite of music with “Baker Street Muse,” a seventeen minute four-part observation of the seedier side of his then home town of London.
The acoustic guitar and strings are to the fore in most of the other songs, but the likes of “Cold Wind To Valhalla” and “Black Satin Dancer” then explode into full-blown rockers, with Martin Barre’s electric guitar taking the spotlight as the band thunders along behind him in an adventurous exploration of unpredictable key-changes and time-signatures. That juxtaposition of acoustic and electric has been a feature of Jethro Tull’s music throughout their career, but is perhaps never better exemplified than on “Minstrel In The Gallery” which, after earlier albums’ tags of ‘blues’ and ‘prog,’ is unequivocally a ‘rock’ album, albeit with a maturity and sophistication both lyrically and harmonically which highlighted Tull’s originality.
Though “Minstrel” is heavily acoustic, songs from the album rarely appeared in concert set lists. Partly, this could very well be due to “Minstrel’s” rather dark, often very personal subject matter and tone for many of the acoustical tunes. Ian was just coming off a divorce and “One White Duck/0¹º = Nothing At All” addresses the end of his marriage. “One White Duck” is related to a common British concept (and even wall ornament) that a married couple have their “ducks in a row.” A sole duck, hence, represents separation.

Jethro Tull A Passion Play 180 GRAM LIMITED LP WITH BOOK
180g Vinyl Reissue! Contains 24-Page Booklet!
A Passion Play is the sixth studio album by the group Jethro Tull. It is a concept album with a single song, which was split into two parts on the original vinyl release.
Original liner notes described the album as though it were a 'play' in four acts over the span of a single continuous song. The music follows the journey of the character Ronnie Pilgrim from death to judgment day and thereafter when he discovers he is fit for neither Heaven nor hell. Released in 1973, it had chart success around the world hitting no. 1 in the US & no. 13 in the UK.
A Passion Play is Jethro Tull’s most overtly Progressive and conceptual release, featuring a complex poetic narrative framed by the most adventurous music of the band’s career. The album offers dazzling virtuoso instrumental passages, evocative synthesizer sequences, and fuses Folk, Jazz and Rock influences in a strikingly unique, wholly Jethro Tull way.
That band is Jethro Tull.
