I AM OFFERING ANOTHER HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER PROG / PSYCH ROCK VINYL LP RARITY FROM MY COLLECTION OF SIMILAR ITEMS !! THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST PROG ALBUMS EVER MADE  IT WILL DEFINITELY BE IN THE TOP TEN BEST PSYCH/PROG ALBUMS EVER CONCEIVED!!!!!!HARD TO FIND AS A FIRST PRESS THESE DAYS. THIS IS THE "EYE" LABEL WHICH IS THE ONLY ORIGINAL FIRST PRESS ISSUE FOR THIS CLASSIC ALBUM. LATER LABELS ARE MORE COMMON LIKE THE "I" LABEL AND THE PALM TREE LABEL. THERE IS ALSO A HARDER TO FIND "BLOCK" LOGO WHICH IS EQUALLY RARE BUT STRICTLY SECOND PRESS.

I have recently (21/09/2021) had the pleasure to see Jethro Tull live at the De Montfort Hall in Leicester. It was a great experience and two tracks of the LP I am selling today were part of the setlist ("Nothing is Easy"and "Bourree"). Outstanding tracks on the day for me were: "Pavane" , "Aqualung" and "My God".

1969 was the year of one of the greatest early progressive minded albums ever, crafted by a young band that was on the way to becoming the greatest progressive minded group ever. I am, of course, referring to Court of the Crimson King; I'm not stupid. What? You thought I was talking about Stand Up here? Oh, it's only just as good, but essentially overlooked. Half of that is because it's overshadowed, of course. But the other half (I believe, what do I know) is because it's not as proggy as those crazy Tullers were destined to become in a year or so (besides, although the songs aren't progressive, the album is. And the cover's awesome, arguably Tull's best). But is it good? Oh yes.( taken from "Progarchives")

A fantastic ultra heavy vinyl which plays phenomenally. The ultra high groove walls ensure the very best audio experience possible for this album. The vinyl retains its beautiful gloss and has probably not been played very much. The earliest ISLAND vinyl is the equivalent of a Rolls Royce in the motor industry; heavy, longlasting and nearly indestructible. Of course NO skips, jumps, crackle etc.

Vinyl: EX+. A smashing ultra heavy first press vinyl with only one hairline trace on side 1, very wispy indeed and inaudible. The groove walls on these first Island pressings are extremely high and it sounds!! The earliest Island and Decca vinyls are purest quality, fantasticly built heavy quality. The audio is splendid and the stereo separation supreme!! This is the way this splendid second classic Tull album should be listened to. Any re-issue or CD does not give you that same experience. This will be an upgrade for most collectors. Of course NO jumps, sticks or skips. Just some light static on the dead wax in between tracks.

Gatefold sleeve: EX+.  Hard to find this sleeve in such great condition. Usually you will find sticker tears and torn flip-ups with lots of creases. Not this copy!! The "stand up" is completely intact without any repairs or tears. When you open the sleeve you can still hear that lovely "creak" of the cardboard, indicating it has not been opened that many times at all. The opening is still super crisp. There are no creases and there is only some  storage wear to the bottom edge, the spine is 100% legible. Please have a good look at the pictures supplied to convince yourself of the quality at hand.

The original inner sleeve is in EX condition.
