Jethro Tull's first LP-length epic is a masterpiece in the annals of progressive rock, and one of the few works of its kind that still holds up decades later.
Mixing hard rock and English folk music with classical influences, set to stream-of-consciousness lyrics so dense with imagery that one might spend weeks pondering their meaning -- assuming one feels the need to do so -- the group created a dazzling tour de force, at once playful, profound, and challenging, without overwhelming the listener.
The original LP was the best-sounding, best-engineered record Tull had ever released, easily capturing the shifting dynamics between the soft all-acoustic passages and the electric rock crescendos surrounding them
Side 1: THICK AS A BRICK (Part I)
Side 2: THICK AS A BRICK (Part II)
LABELS: MINT
Clean and bright, factory-fresh labels with no spindle traces or signs of play
VINYL Visual: MINT-
Both vinyl surfaces are unmarked and shine like-new
VINYL Audio: MINT-
This is one of finest albums in the Tull catalogue in terms of production and engineering and these first presses deliver sensational sound - deep, rich, warm and finely detailed.
And as the record shows no signs of ever being played my play-check at very loud volume confirmed no major audible distractions of any kind (just the very occasional soft static tick - to remind you it's vinyl - impossibly minor and non-intrusive).
A really exceptional example of this wonderful piece of work - as good as it gets (and the best copy I have ever offered for sale) - great stuff
NEWSPAPER SLEEVE: EXCELLENT+
Again, a superb example - clean, fresh and unmarked (neither the join-the-dots not the crossword puzzle have been filled in).
The inner pages are firmly attached and apart from the expected age yellowing are like-new.
The edges of the cover are crisp and square and all spine text (normally rubbed) is clear and bold.
There are some soft bends to the corners of the sleeve but nothing which detracts from its appearance
A PROTECTIVE POLY SLEEVE, NEW INNER SLEEVE WITH ANTI-STATIC LINER, QUALITY BOX (NOT ENVELOPE) MAILER AND AMPLE STIFFENERS ARE ALWAYS USED TO ENSURE THAT YOUR RECORD ARRIVES SAFELY
