Description
JETHRO TULL Thick As A Brick VINYL LP 1st UK Pressing NEWSPAPER COVER E.J. Day
Here is the original UK issue of ‘Thick As A Brick’.It is a first pressing, matrix: A3U Porky B2U Peck
It has the original fold-out 12 page newspaper cover printed by E.J. Day. The outer gatefold style sleeve is made from heavier weight construction (later issues used lighter card stock).
The label has the white ‘Island’ logo - later pressings did not carry this.
It’s a decent copy which is used but has cared for - please see condition below for further information.
Tracks:
Thick As A Brick - 22.14 Thick As A Brick - 22.40
Label: Chrysalis Year: 1972 Country: UK
Condition:
Sleeve is VG. There is slight age toning and slight corner wear at the bottom fold. There is a small seam split in the record pocket (about half in inch) opening. The staples are fine and the newpaper pages are all fine. There is a ‘join the dots’ puzzle inside - the dots appear to have been joined, presumably by previous owner.
Vinyl is VG- Side one has a visible surface scuff (smaller than 1 inch) which cannot be felt. Generally, a VG copy with some light surface marks.

CONDITION AND GRADING NOTE:
Thank you for looking at my listing.
I aim to be accurate with my gradings. I have been buying and selling records for over 40 years so have experience in identifying and describing condition of vinyl. My feedback reflects the fact that I try very hard to deliver a good buying experience.
Unless otherwise stated, all the records I sell are previously owned and used. They are visually - not aurally - graded using, as a guide, the Record Collector system. If I am in doubt about the condition of the record, I do not list it.
RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played to the point where the sound quality may have noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
Thank you for looking at my auction. I aim to be accurate with my descriptions but, if for any reason, I have made a mistake and you are unhappy with the item, please give me the opportunity to make things right. All items are posted via standard post (unless otherwise directed) and I will obtain, as proof of postage, a Certificate of Posting. On valuable items, you might want to consider having them sent via Registered or Signed For and taking out insurance, which I can organise
