JETHRO TULL This Was LP 1968 ISLAND 1st Press MONO RAREST EVER

	£		63
	$		83

On offer here is a VERY rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by Jethro Tull called "This Was" and is an ORIGINAL 1968 UK MONO 1st Pressing on the 1st Press 'Textured' Pink Island 'Circle' logo label!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!!  THIS WAS JETHRO TULL'S FIRST & RAREST LP EVER - AND VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE!!!!  JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE!!!!  BACK IN 1968 WHEN THIS LP WAS FIRST RELEASED - IT ONLY EVER SOLD IN ABSOLUTELY TINY AMOUNTS, AND WAS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY DELETED!!!!  AS A RESULT IT IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND INCREDIBLY HARD TO LOCATE TODAY!!!!  THIS LP IS MADE EVEN RARER STILL, AS IT IS 1ST PRESSED IN MEGA RARE MONO - WHICH HAS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT MONO 1ST PRESS MIX COMPARED TO THE STEREO VERSION!!!!

THIS LP IS ALSO THE 'RAREST' 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE - WITH ONLY A FEW HUNDRED COPIES EVER BEING MADE LIKE THIS!!!!  IN FACT, THIS IS ONLY THE SECOND 1ST PRESSING I HAVE EVER SEEN WITH THESE ULTRA RARE 1ST PRESS VARIATIONS - THATS HOW RARE THIS LP REALLY IS!!!!  INCREDIBLY THIS LP HAS:-

1) 'SMALL' MADE IN ENGLAND TEXT AT THE BOTTOM OF EACH LABEL (LATER PRESSINGS HAD LARGER TEXT - OR NO MADE IN ENGLAND TEXT AT ALL!)

2) 'BIEM' IS PRINTED JUST BELOW THE ISLAND LOGO TO THE LEFT OF EACH LABEL (99% OF COPIES DON'T HAVE THIS AT ALL!)!!!!

3) 'P 1968' IS PRINTED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LABEL (ON MANY COPIES THIS IS COMPLETELY MISSING!)

4) THE MONO COVER HAS NO FLIPBACKS AND A DIFFERENT CONSTRUCTION TO LATER PRESSINGS!!!!  OBVIOUSLY MOST MONO COVERS HAD FLIPBACKS - AND THESE ARE VERY COMMON.  HOWEVER THIS COVER IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TO EVEN THE MUCH LATER 1970 'NON-FLIPBACK' COVERS, AS ON THOSE COVERS THE LAMINATE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE INSIDE ENDS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE INSIDE PICTURE!!!!  WHEREAS THIS ONE ENDS ON THE BOTTOM EDGE!!!!  SO THIS COVER IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TO ALL FLIPBACK COVERS, AND COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TO THE LATER 'RE-ISSUE' FLPBACK COVER FROM 1970 ONWARDS!!!!  I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS COVER VARIATION ON A MONO COVER - EVER!!!!

NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN GREAT CONDITION - AND CLEARLY HASN'T BEEN PLAYED MUCH AT ALL!!!!  JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES!!!!  THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1968 UK 'RAREST EVER' MONO 1ST PRESSING ON THE 1ST PRESS 'TEXTURED' PINK ISLAND 'CIRCLE' LOGO LABEL, 'RAREST EVER' 1ST PRESS LABEL TEXT, 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS A/B MONO MATRIX ENDINGS, 1ST PRESS INNER SLEEVE, AND 'RAREST EVER' 1ST PRESS 'WIDE SPINE' GATEFOLD LAMINATED NON-FLIPBACK MONO COVER (WITH DIFFERENT CONSTRUCTION!)!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!!!!  This is the ORIGINAL Island UK 1st Pressing from 1968 and is in GREAT condition!!!!  The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl.  The Cat. No is ILP 985 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press 'Textured' Pink Island label (see picture) and is a much MUCH rarer UK MONO 1st Pressing!!!!

The record labels (see pictures) are in SUPERB condition - with NO wear, NO writing, and only a few VERY light spindle marks!!!!  IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HASN'T BEEN PLAYED MUCH AT ALL!!!!  The vinyl is in GREAT condition!!!!  Most of these 60s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO nasty concentric marks AT ALL, only 3 or 4 visible (but NON sounding!) scufflines, NO nasty 'tick' marks AT ALL, only 3 or 4 VERY light hairlines, and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!!  THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK!!!!  It is also great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO pops, barely ANY clicks AT ALL, NO sticking, NO jumps, and barely ANY crackle AT ALL!!!!  The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO groovewear and NO distortion either!!!!  The record must grade Very Good(Minus) (PROPERLY graded, NOT trashed!) if not better - and is still a very VERY decent record indeed, that plays BRILLIANTLY!!!!  Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! The record also comes in its ORIGINAL 1st Press inner sleeve which is in BRILLIANT condition!!!!  The ORIGINAL 'RAREST EVER' 1st Press 'Wide Spine' Gatefold Laminated NON-Flipback MONO Cover is in GREAT condition!!!!  It has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, NO splits, only slight corner wear (NOT through the colour!), NO rips, NO tears, only some VERY minor evidence of 'tipping in' to the corners, VERY shiny laminate, some creasing (mainly towards the left, and the cover is still VERY flat looking!), NO annotations, and NO writing!!!!  The opening edges are beautifully straight with barely ANY feathering AT ALL (with some possible evidence of 'trimming' here)!!!!  Even the unlaminated inside of the cover is in BRILLIANT condition with NO grubbyness, NO rubbing, NO ringwear, and NO writing!!!!  The cover must grade Very Good(Minus) (PROPERLY graded, NOT trashed!) if not better - and is still a very VERY decent cover indeed, with absolutely NO major defects AT ALL!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS (ESPECIALLY IN MEGA RARE MONO - AND AS THE 'RAREST EVER' 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE!) - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY!!!!
