JIM CROCE'S Sophomore solo release containing a track that shot to #1 in the USA 'Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown'. This is a great work, showcasing Croce's incredible songwriting and beautifully seductive vocal putting him head and shoulders above the competition. Shortly after this release he died in a plane crash making his small body of work even more poignant.
Tough to find nice copies of this one on the Swirl label these days and this one is in top shape.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.
Pressing: Vertigo, Holland, 1972 - Swirl label
Vinyl: Superb clean and shiny condition. I would say unplayed. No spindle marks and very little signs of use. Pr*mo sticker on B-Side of label and remnants of sticker removal on A-side. Grades as top shop fresh MINT!
Cover: Again, virtually no signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated fully laminated gatefold cover - retains full gloss. Sharp corners, one miniscule ding, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is stiff and straight. Beautiful and impossible to find like this 45 years after release. Grades as top shop fresh MINT-!
