Description

JIM JACKSON

VICTOR 21268

E

TITLES:

  • Policy Blues
  • Bootlegging Blues

Jim Jackson was an older artist when he bean recording in 1927.  His musical abilities spanned many types of music.  He was the resident "House Musician"  at the famed Peabody Hotel in Memphis by 1919.  The music he recorded reflects some of the earlier types of music played by African-American musicians.  He was much the songster.

Record is clean and shiney with two or three very light marks on the "A" side - which do not affect play.  "A" side also has some light staining at the outer ½" of the record for about 180° which makes areas of the surface appear a bit duller.  This is also not audible and could possibly benefit from a good washing.  "B" side is very clean and shiney.  Record looks and plays E.
