Description

I am parting with some of my treasured LPs.  Here's an interesting first press record from 1967.   It is interesting because it is a STRERO LP INSIDE A MONO COVER.    Cat # R6261 COVER and RS6261VINYL.  The VINYL runoff numbers are RS30681-RS6261A-1D on Side 1.  Side 2 is 30682.  RS6261B 1G.  I have no explanation for why the record is Stereo, and the cover is mono.  It's possible somebody switched them at some point?  Or that possibly the cover was printed right at the time they were switching to stereo LPs, and they had some extra Mono covers??  I can't say.  However, The MONO cover is in very beautiful condition, and might be seen as an upgrade for someone with a beautiful MONO record, but who's cover is not the same quality.  This cover is STILL IN SHRINK with a COVER STICKER.  There is some visible ring wear on the front top above "HENDRIX" , and the cardboard cover does have a bend to it below "EXPERIENCED" for the last 5 letters.  It is not visible on the back cover.  TOP AND BOTTOM SEAMS are beautiful/perfect.  The spine has a couple tears; on the top, by MONO for 1/2",  In the middle for about 2", and on the very bottom for about 1" but that one doesn't look so bad.The back cover is in beautiful condition with a very small corner bump bottom left, and very light age toning around the lip of the cover, where the shrink isn't covering...
The LP is in VG++ condition with full shine, and plays great.  It does have a nice shine to it, but there are some scratches that are audible, and especially in between tracks, and in some quieter moments.  Side 1 plays much better than side 2, but nowhere on the LP are there any skips, jumps or pops.
The labels show signs of spindle wear with a few light marks, but overall nice.  It is of course the TRI COLOR LABEL, which were from 1967
What can you say about ARE YOU EXPERIENCED that hasn't already been said.  In my opinion it's one of the greatest debut LPs of any American artist.  Maybe The Doors first LP fits in there too...  But the LP is an opening salvo in a rocket ship launch to the top of the rock world, redefining the importance of the guitar as the primary instrument in rock music, and helping to create a free form that so many would emulate---

I love original original pressings because I feel every LP is of it's time and place. The vinyl, and record pressings are all from that moment in time, and no re-pressing or re-mastering will ever make the sound better for me.  PLEASE CHECK OUT MY OTHER LPS FOR SALE NOW ON EBAY.  I AM POSTING SOME TREASURES.  SOME ARE RARE AND COLLECTIBLE, AND OTHERS ARE JUST GREAT ALBUMS LIKE THIS ONE IS.
