Original 1967 U.K. first issue stereo pressing released on the black & silver Track label 613 003.

Description :

Very rare and hard to find psych classic that has become increasingly collectable over the last few years.

Axis: Bold as Love is the second studio album by The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Under pressure from their record company to follow-up the successful debut of their May 1967 album Are You Experienced, Axis: Bold as Love was released on Track Records in the UK in December 1967. It reached #5 in the UK[and later #3 in the US.

The album was recorded to fulfill the band's contract, which stated that they must produce two albums in 1967. Even so, it was not released in the USA until 1968 due to fears that it might disturb the sales of the first album. Noel Redding plays eight string bass on some tracks.

Just before the album's completion, Hendrix left the master tapes of side one in a taxi. They were never found again, and thus the A-side had to be mixed again quickly!

Condition ~ Vinyl :

The vinyl is in utterly stunning virtually unplayed condition!!! Almost as pristine as the day it left the pressing plant. Easily NEAR MINT if not even better!!!

Audio Quality :

The sound quality is absolutely superb with virtually no background noise at all, hardly even a click or a pop.

Condition ~ Sleeve :

The classic striking laminated gatefold sleeve is in overall superb shape with just the lightest of wear and a slight ripple effect on the inside which is very common for this sleeve. EXCELLENT condition.

Condition ~ Labels :

Both labels are nice and clean. No writing and barely any visible spindle marks.

Condition ~ Lyric Sheet :

Comes complete with the original orange fold-over poster lyric sheet which has a few light thumb creases but no splits, tears or writing. EXCELLENT condition.
