JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE

"AXIS: Bold As Love"

Among the rarest commercially released Hendrix LP's, the France original Barclay 820-167 "Axis" is notable for a totally unique cover that appeared nowhere else in the world. It's a great photo-studio posed 'live' picture with Jimi playing his psychedelic hand-painted Gibson 'Flying V' guitar. This is without a doubt one of the coolest Hendrix covers, and despite the success of the LP, it doesn't turn up frequently these days.

The laminated front cover here has a fine-line baby blue ink name written off to the right side (since this is a laminated cover you might very well be able to remove this with nail polish remover & a cue tip, very carefully, but at your discretion not mine!), otherwise the front is very nice. The back is still nice and white with only slight soil, the laminated flip-back construction is neat and intact. The bad news is that the central 4" of the spine has split and some previous owner clear-taped that part of the spine.

The LP itself has clean labels with mostly moderate surface play wear. There are however several more dramatic visible scuffs on side one. The super thick vinyl should deliver the goods regardless, though due to general play wear and the split taped spine I'm selling this truly rare LP as-is.
