Description
Jimi Hendrix 'Band of Gipsies' (on record label) 'Gypsys' (on cover). On the Track label, catalogue number 2406 002 (stereo).
The numbers and letters stamped on the vinyl are:- Side A: 2406 002 Av1 11 112 1 Side B: 2406 002 B=1 11 25
This is a heavy vinyl and it is not warped. I can't see any surface scratches on the A side and only two very light ones on the B side, although there are some wispy lines, probably from contact with the bag, but they are very hard to see even under a bright light. This record does not seem to have been played many times. When I played it there was a little bit of light crackle that I could hear now and again, but it sounds really excellent all the way through.
The track titles can be seen on the label photographs. The labels only have a few spindle lines, they look almost perfect to me.
The cover is a gatefold type, it doesn't have any coating or laminate. On the front, on the bottom corner next to the spine there is a small oblong piece where the print is missing (on Jimi's shoulder - you can see it in the photo). There are also some small surface scuffs, a bit of rub wear on the surfaces and edges and a few edge dents. The spine is very good, just a bit worn on each end.
The inner sleeve appears to be the original. It has a small slit in one of the side seams for about 5 cms. I have checked the Record Collector grading system and I would say that the cover is 'very good' and the record is 'excellent'.
I have described this as carefully and honestly as possible, but it is a no return item so please bid accordingly.
It will be packed in a record mailing box (cruciform) with two pieces of card inside for further protection.
