Description
The product is a 1986 promo (has a promo hole punch in upper right - see image ) LP of Jimi Hendrix's "Band of Gypsies 2" on vinyl. Released by Capitol Records, this rock album features psychedelic rock with electric guitar as the main instrument. The 12" record is in stereo and comes in a black cardboard sleeve. This misprint promo adds to the rarity and collectability of this classic album by a legendary artist.
This 1986 Capitol Records release of Jimi Hendrix - Band of Gypsys 2 (JS-12416) had a famous, rare mispressing on its earliest copies. While the cover and label listed tracks from the Atlanta Pop and Berkeley shows, the initial Side 2 actually contained entirely different live performances: "Ezy Rider," "Hey Joe," "Hey Baby," and "Lover Man".
This is a promo copy from that original 1986 release date. This Record was still sealed until I opened it to verify Side 2 songs and label. I played the first track on side 2 for 30 seconds to verify it was Ezy ryder and it showed 4 songs on record and 3 on the label. I had to list this record as used since I opened it to play the 30 seconds of the 1st side 2 song. Otherwise the rest of the record has never been played...
A Highly Collectable piece of Rock & Roll History
