Hendrix fans will understand the importance and meaning of these 1st pressing matrix and very early stamper numbers
Cover: E J Day fully laminated gatefold cover with the blue text on the inner gatefold and the larger photos of Mitch & Noel. This is the earliest possible pressing with the Track 613008/9 catalogue number inside the gatefold. The blue text pressings were difficult to read and were withdrawn shortly after release and replaced with white text which was easier to read. The later pressings also reduced the size of the Noel and Mitch photos.
No writings/doodles or stickers. As you will be aware, I cannot show the naked ladies but the condition of the front is VG+ with some laminate creasing and edge/spine wear. The spine has the beginnings of a 2" split but this could be glued if done carefully. The inside also has some laminate creasing. The internal spine has some wear and the previous owner taped the innner spine to prevent further wear. Looks like it could be removed if done carefully. Inside is therefore VG+. Poly-lined inner sleeves in Excellent condition.
Labels: Has Sides A&D on one LP and sides B&C on the other. Inverted catalogue numbers on left hand side above the regular catalogue number - only 1st pressings had this.
Vinyl: Play tested. The sides look to be between VG(-) to VG(+) with quite a few mainly non-feelable marks/scratches on some sides but, amazingly, the records play much better than they look - especially if played loud - why wouldn't you play it loud anyway? No skips/jumps. While there is some crackle and occasional pops/clicks in places, the quality of the vinyl is such that it is not really very intrusive in the main. I would grade the overall listening experience as between VG+ and Near Excellent. Clearly some quieter tracks and quieter moments will not be as good as the rockers, but hey, this Hendrix - anything by him on vinyl is fantastic. The records have not been professionally cleaned so there is probably some scope for further improvement.

Gradings.......
Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.
Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.
Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches.
Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and more significant scratches.
Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.
Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc
Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
