Description

This is a true first press Electric Ladyland double vinyl. It has only been owned by me from new and is in superb condition. It has the rare hand etched serial number and corrections to the original press.

As I am not a dealer I am reluctant to grade the record, but having looked at other listings and the criteria I would suggest Near Mint. The most significant issue being cracking to the laminate along the crease in the gatefold. Some light marking to the labels where it has been placed on the record player.

The Record Plays beautifully and sounds as good as the day I brought it home.

There are lots of great photos but if you have any questions please ask.

Viewings are welcome and encouraged before purchase, if you need anything at all let me know. All serious offers considered! I am happy to arrange a video viewing via facetime or another app.

Please see details below;

Sometimes known as the ghost text version, cover has blue text track listing but underneath the blue text a different track order to the album can be seen. Different track order is as follows;

A1 Still Raining Still Dreaming
A2 House Burning Down
A3 All Along The Watchtower
A4 Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)
B1 Rainy Day, Dream Away
B2 1983 (A Merman, I Should Turn To Be)
B3 Moon Turns The Tides
C1 And The Gods Made Love
C2 Electric Ladyland
C3 Crosstown Traffic
C4 Voodoo Chile
D1 Little Miss Strange
D2 Long Hot Summer Night
D3 Come On
D4 Gipsy Eyes
D5 Burning Of The Midnight Lamp

The rejected tracklist can be heard on The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Electric Ladyland Part 1 and The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Electric Ladyland Part 2.

This ghost text version is part of 'day of release' copies, along with the white type regular first version.
There is also a Version that has the Track Logo and the Credits on the left in white Colour instead of blue,
this one: https://www.discogs.com/de/release/24758495-The-Jimi-Hendrix-Experience-Electric-Ladyland

The record labels are as follows, side A is backed with side D, side B is backed with side C. Inners have the British patent no. 800513 & 973939 --- Made in England 098 & 108

Gatefold opens to view inner spread (glued to outer cover's inside tabs as separate element). Gloss laminate may expose matt areas on all four edges because of laminate shrinkage. (Effectively, the sleeve is a flattened 2-piece cardboard tube).

Hendrix portrait on right-hand side (Back cover behind it).
Large sepia images of Redding & Mitchell on left (Front cover behind it), with blue tracks/credit text below them. "Track Record" logo center, E.J.Day print data to left. Erratic use of upper & lower-case in titles.

Matt texture 'Version 1' labels with additional inverted catalog in parenthesis.

Runouts: 'x' indicates a scratched out letter or number
