DESCRIPTION: Up for auction is a 1968 orig. vinyl, 1st UK Pressing Release of Jimi Hendrix's 2-LP "Electric Ladyland" with the U.S. censored "Nudes" cover. The vinyl is in Near Mint (NM) condition being it was never played. These LP's have stamped matrix numbers in the run-out groove. (Such tiny numbers I couldn't make out.) The label is an orange Polydor label. I bought this album in England in 1973 when I was an exchange student in College. I did open it to see the photos inside, but didn't bother playing it as I already had a U.S. copy of the album. I placed it in a plastic sleeve and stored it away with my other albums, not knowing that there was an error. Inside were two LP's that were identical with the same tracks. I believe that mistakeningly the same LP was placed in both gatefold cover sleeves in the record factory. Side A/Side D was placed in the sleeve twice and there is no Side B/Side C. Now, 45+ yrs. later, I am first finding out about the mistake. The inner sleeves have age-related stain and discoloration, but have the words "Made In England" printed on them. That has not affected the vinyl whatsoever. The outer gatefold cover is graded Near Mint (NM). It has a shiny, laminated surface, not like U.S. release albums.
