Description
The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Electric Ladyland, Original UK PRESS 1968, Black TRACK labels, 2-LP-Set STEREO 613008/9, laminated Gatefold-Cover, NUDE VERSION!
Condition: LP/ Cover: VG++/Vg+
with scratched out and changed matrix numbers and letters! (please see description below)
For sure one of the best progressive rock albums!
Spectacular Gatefold Cover! Only UK and Japan used this photo for their first pressings, most other countries issues shows only the Jimi Hendrix Exp similar to the Debut LP! Near all Nude Cover pressings which turns up on ebay are later pressings of the 70s!
This one offered has the black track labels and both vinyls have engraved numbers and letters in the trailout-groooves which shows that this one is not only an original, it is a very early example!
Record 1 with number 613008 has in matrix the last number stamped 8 scratched out, instead of it a 9 engraved, which again is scratched out for a 8. Whole number is 61300898 A1 with first 8 and 9 scratched out. The other side of record 1 (Side D!!) has 613008 B1 where the last number stamped (must be 8 or 9, difficult to see) scratcehd out and changed with an 8 engraved after that.
Record 2 with number 613009 has on side 1 (here Side B!!) matrix number 613008 B1 where 8 and B stamped each are scratched out and 9 and A are engraved instead. Other side (Side C!!) has stamped 613008, here also 8 scratched out and 9 engraved and after it again 8 is engraved, 9 before is scratched out. A 1 with A scratched out and B engraved. Of course all this proves to be a very early example! Later pressings for sure dont show these changes by engraving.
Both vinyls are in VG++, very close to Exellent shape. All records have been inscpected under bright halogen light. Very rare to see this condition nowadays, most had a hard life at parties and were abused! In this case the Lps did not see often the turntable needle. I listened nearly noth sides and it is very great audio, very spectacular to hear this great music with such a clear sound. The cover has been been laminated (Original) and it is in Very Good+ condition, very thin made cover, however this one shows only minimal defects on the lamination, very hard to find a better one today.
Reasonable starting price! Even without the blue text this is a extremly high valued item! Even many polydor 70s pressings with nude cover fetches around 50 pounds or more!
