VISUAL QUALITY
The infamous fully laminated gatefold cover is generally in excellent condition throughout.
The front has some ring and corner wear and the laminate is still completely intact, with a couple of half moons creases.
The external spine is still strong, with some areas of wear.
The inside gatefold with the larger pictures of Mitch & Noel and the Blue Text is in excellent condition with just a little wear to the spine and some small laminate bubbles.
The inside pictures of Jimi, Mitch & Noel and the blue text have been glued onto the cover the wrong way round! Traditionally, when you open the cover, Jimi should be on the left, but he is on the right, making this cover unique to every other Blue Text, first pressing Electric Ladyland!!
The rear is still in excellent condition, with some minor ring and edge wear and what appears to be the remains of a small sticker.
The inner sleeves are in excellent condition, with no tears or cut throughs, and are still very white and clean.
The labels are in near mint condition, with no writing, stickers or scuffs, and with barely a spindle mark.
The records are in near mint condition, with just some wispy hairlines
PHOTOGRAPHS
The photographs on this listing are of the actual record. There may be small area of “flare” on each photograph. This is not on the record! I will try to upload pictures of the front and rear cover, but I understand that Ebay may not approve! If this should happen, please email me.
PLAYING QUALITY:
Played extremely loud through headphones (plug your ears!!)
This is obviously a very early pressing of Electric Ladyland!
I have listened to many first pressings of this album over the years and Side A always suffered from what is generally considered as a less than a perfect press, especially on the early Blue Text cover versions.
There is an occasional pressing sound, but this only appears on very short occasions on Side A.
There are no surface marks on any of the records to suggest that this was the cause of a faulty stylus or poor handling.
Sides D, B and C do not have this pressing fault.
