Description
For auction is a rare and great condition 1st U.K. press copy of Electric Ladyland by The Jimi Hendrix Experience.
The original first issue uncensored gatefold sleeve is in VG+ condition. No tears or writing but some wear to opening edges and corners.
Research now indicates that the copies with white print and the small photos of Noel Reading and Mitch Mitchell are the true first issues. Later copies have the larger band photos, as they had complained about how small their images were compared to Jimi. The first attempt to rectify the image size issue led to a misprint with blue text print.
The original inner sleeves are in VG condition with some creases.
The records are visually VG+ with some scuffs and minor scratches but nothing deep or feelable. The labels are clean without writing or tears.
The records have sides A and D on record 1 and sides B and C on record 2. The matrices are A1/B1/A1/A1, which is further proof of being first issue.
Sonically they play closer to excellent than VG +. Occasional quiet crackles but no sticks skips or jumps.
Overall a great condition first issue of a truly iconic double album.
