Description
A great opportunity to buy an ORIGINAL copy of a DOUBLE VINYL LP from the 1960’s by The Jimi Hendrix Experience called "Electric Ladyland".
This is the original issue with the NUDE COVER, but to adhere to policies of decency, only the title section of the front cover has been displayed.
This copy is a FIRST PRESSING issue with the short-lived BLUE TEXT inside the gatefold sleeve and the A/1 and B/1 matrix numbers.
This is a U.K. pressing released in 1968 on the Track label (613 008 and 613 009) (stereo). It has a total of 16 tracks (see photos for track listing).
The vinyls are in a clean and shiny condition. I always examine and grade records under a bright table lamp and there are many light surface marks evident and some scratches, but thankfully these do not appear to affect the playing or sound quality.
I have played all four sides in their entirety and they play without sticking or jumping. Occasionally there are the odd clicks noticeable, mainly between tracks, but the stereo sound quality is very acceptable and it makes great listening. Overall I would grade the vinyls in a VERY GOOD condition.
There are some spindle marks noticeable on both labels when tilted towards the light, otherwise the labels are clean and free from any writing or major defects.
The records have sides A and D on one disc and sides B and C on the other. The matrix numbers are: -
Side A - 613008 A 1 12 10
Side D - 613008 B 1 1
Side B - 613009 A 1 1
Side C - 613009 B 1 1 Note this side has a scratched out machine stamped matrix number and has been replaced with a hand scratched matrix.
All of the above detail indicates this item to be a FIRST PRESSING issue.
The records are perfectly flat and have no warps of any description.
The vinyls are not housed in their original inners, but in similar plain poly-lined inner sleeves in a VERY GOOD condition, with just some minor creasing.
The printed Ernest J.Day laminated gatefold picture cover is in an overall VERY GOOD condition. The edges and spine are very strong, but there is just a small area of shelf wear along of the bottom edge (see photo) and at the corners. There is some minor creasing on the front laminate and a small group of minor indentations on the front and on the back, but only noticeable if you look carefully and tilt towards the light. There is minimal wear along the opening edge. There is a hint of ring wear, but again only evident when tilted. The inside of the gatefold is high gloss laminate and is clean and unmarked with only a couple of minor creases in the laminate to report.
The text inside the gatefold cover is BLUE and this was replaced very early in the pressing stages with WHITE text. Again another indication that this is a VERY EARLY FIRST PRESSING issue.
The pictures shown are of the actual item.
