Stunning Original Mega Rare 1971 UK **Near Mint** 1st Pressing 'The Cry Of Love' by Jimi Hendrix on UK 1st Press 'Matt Textured' Track Record Labels with 1st Press A1//B1 Matrix and Original Non-Laminated E. J. Day Gatefold Sleeve!!! This Rare Record is in Absolutely Stunning Condition Throughout!!!

Here is another gem from my own mostly Nr Mint personal collection (which I am selling off gradually to lessen the pain...) You are bidding on an absolutely stunning ORIGINAL1971 UK 1st Pressing of this MEGA RARE UK Jimi Hendrix album!!! What makes this record even more special is its condition - The vinyl is straight Nr Mint, the sleeve is excellent, impossible for this record!!! It is the Original 1971 UK Track Record 1st PRESSING on 1st press 'Matt textured' Track Record labels with the correct A1//B1 matrix!! It is complete with its original E. J. Day non-laminated gatefold sleeve and original poly-lined 'Patents' inner sleeve!  These sleeves almost always turn up completely worn out and tatty looking, they are one of the hardest of all sleeves to find in anywhere approaching excellent condition, they usually have terrible edge, seam and spine wear and are generally very very poor. This one however is different; it is in absolutely superb condition, being one of the very best I have seen for a long time. And although not Mint, it grades as a strong Ex which, believe me, is impossible for this fragile sleeve. However, the real killer here is the condition of this disc, it is simply Near Mint, which, believe me, is impossible for this disc. It does not have a single blemish on it!!!

The cool super thick and chunky vinyl is in visually and aurally stunning condition and shines with a 'just pressed' look and feel, it really looks as if this record came off the press yesterday!!! Please check our other auctions as we have some more incredibly rare 1st pressings and rarities currently listed and ending soon!!! This is  very, very rare record in this condition and  is an absolutely essential record for any high grade psych Hendrix collection - especially in this condition - you will not see a better example!!!

1st Press Matrix:

Side 1 - 2408 101 A//1

Side 2 - 2408 101 B//1

This vinyl is in stunning immaculate condition!!! The Classic Black/Silver 'matt textured' 1st Pressing Track Record centre labels are in superb condition with NO Tears, NO Peeling, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!! There are just some very, very light spindle lines (see images) and they are very very faint, which is rare for this record! Because these are 1st press Track labels and have a textured matt finish, spindle lines are unfortunately almost inevitable if the record have ever been played before, so seeing labels this pristine is very very rare!  The gramophone rims containing the all important 1st press matrix's are also mint!!!

What can I say about the vinyl itself? The first thing you notice about it is its incredible weight and thickness!!! It has NO Scratches, No Scuffing, NO Hairlines, NO Groove Wear, NO Warping - there are not even any paper-lines, impossible for this record!!! It grades as Straight Nr Mint!!! Impossible for this rare record!!! This disc looks like it came off the master press yesterday!!! It has all the deep shine a newly pressed record!!!  The record still retains ALL its original gloss and shine and has NO dulling and NO nasty greying of the grooves!!! I am very pleased to state also that this record also plays as good as it looks!!! It has NO jumps, NO skips NO nasty loud pops!!! Just the very faint crackle during the silent run-ins that you would expect. The thick quality pressed chunky 1970's vinyl looks and feels great (it is very heavy!). It is one of the best copies I have ever seen or heard - stunning!

As I mentioned above, the classic un-laminated 1st press E. J. Day gatefold sleeve is in tremendous condition!!! As was also mentioned above, in the rare occasions that these UK 1st press E. J. Day sleeves turn up nowadays, they are always totally worn out-looking; very floppy & lifeless with severe corner, edge & spine wear, stains and terrible ring wear (especially to the back). Although this is mainly because they were not laminated, it is more than that, they were just simply more fragile than most sleeves of the time (even the unlaminated Vertigo Swirl series retain their stiffness better). 99.9% of all examples I have seen The Cry Of Love just have that very unappealing worn and floppy look. However when you find one approaching Excellent+ condition like this, it is a different story; it allows you to fully appreciate the amazing artwork, photos, and vibrant colours that make up this awesome sleeve. As it is with this one, which is in superb condition with NO Tears, NO Stains, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!!  It is completely blemish free!!! The sleeve lies perfectly FLAT with very little of the ring, corner & edge wear that is so common with these sleeves! It has a strong spine with mint legible spine text and just some tiny patches of wear!!!  The inner gatefold with colour pictures is absolutely pristine with no nasty scribbles/stains or blemishes of any kind!!! It has no discoloration and very little, if any of the aforementioned ring wear!!! Impossible for this sleeve!!  This very rare sleeve easily grades as Excellent in every way, and is in no way over-graded!!! IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND THIS 1st PRESS SLEEVE IN THIS CONDITION ANYMORE!!! The LP comes with its Original 'Made in England' poly-lined windowed inner sleeve - which is also in superb excellent condition! Nice and flat with NO serious creases and NO separation of the inner poly lining!! Please check out our feedback and bid with confidence as this is a no reserve auction with a very low starting price!

Do not underestimate the rarity of this record in this condition!!! UK 1st press copies in such stunning condition are as such is in very high demand today. If you have never heard it, you will not find another copy that LOOKS OR PLAYS than this- it will blow you away!!! If you are a collector/investor, the price of this record will just rise and rise. An absolutely essential (and very rare) record to own in this complete and beautiful condition!!! Don't miss this one!!!

I have tried to show you the record from all angles using extra large images. If you are not sure of anything just email me - I will be happy to help. Don't underestimate the rarity of this LP - finding a UK 1st press of this LP in this kind of condition is impossible today; Good Luck!

Please read - It has recently been pointed out to me that some eBay sellers have been using my images without permission. If you are thinking of lifting some images from my pages - please don't. You will be reported and your auction will be removed by eBay. It's not that I mind, in fact its kinda flattering, my real problem is that whoever does this is not showing a true image of the actual record they are selling. The condition of old 1960's & 70's records varies greatly, no two are in exactly the same condition when they are this age. All my pictures are very specific to the actual records I sell and it is wholly misleading to to show these images with reference to a different record - whoever does this is not being fair to the buyer. Thanks for reading.

I will be selling my entire UK 1st Press collection of 1960/70's Psych/Prog./Beat/Rock & Folk over the coming months, most of these records are in Mint- condition, many having 3 figure book prices. All will be listed here on eBay UK, most with a £2.99 start and No Reserve - bookmark my pages. Like the vast majority of my collection, this record has been archived upright in a thick outer PVC sleeve in a smoke & damp free environment since purchase!

All my records have No reserve, a Low Start and No Surcharges!

We always combine postage so if you win more than 1 auction you save money on postage costs! A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up  - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. If you don't add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will not get a refund. Can we be any clearer? I think not.

Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
