Description
This is the original UK double LP by JIMI HENDRIX, ELECTRIC LADYLAND, stereo, the 1st pressing was released in November 1968, this is the VERY EARLY 1969 2nd press, released in the 1st few months of 1969, due to the overwhelming demand for this fantastic LP. The label's are still on the black TRACK label 613 008/009 (later pressing's were either on the dark grey Track label, or Polydor label), complete with the original 1969 UK 2nd issue fully laminated E.J DAY NUDE gatefold cover, with the smaller pictures of Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding, with white writing at the bottom.The NUDE cover was banned soon after this pressing, because of it's explict nudity, infact Jimi didnot want the LP to be released with this cover, but backed down under pressure from his record company, some record shops sold it with a brown paper cover to counter any offence it might cause to the public.
It is always a pleasure to have this RARE double LP for auction, as it's is without doubt a true masterpiece, and to find a SUPERB copy is always VERY VERY HARD to find, and I consider myself extremely lucky that I have found a beautiful copy! Jimi Hendrix is a legend his experimental guitar work was revolutionary, ELECTRIC LADYLAND encompasses this fact and hightlights his extraodinary talant as a guitar player, singer and songwriter, as the majority of the tracks on the double LP are written by Jimi. He played the Guitar like no other, taking it to places un-imaginable, Jimi was known to be a kind, gentle, and polite man, and WOW!, did he express himself through his Guitar playing!.
The original 1969 UK 2nd issue fully laminated E.J DAY gatefold cover is in EX+ condition, beautifully clean, maintaining all it's original colour inside and out, their is no unwanted writing, and no seam splits, the spine maintains it's original broadness, and fully intact, their is only a few small area's of very light lamination creasing, very minor and is not visually intrusive, a SUPERB cover.
Both vinyl's are visually in EX+++ condition, maintaining all their original shine and lustre, with only a few minimal very light and small surface marks which donot effect the listening experience in anyway, I have played both vinyl's, all four sides and the audio grading is a STUNNING MINT- !, INCREDABLE!, the vinyl's play with superior crisp, clear clarity, every track plays wonderfully!, the quality of these 1st press vinyl's is BREATHTAKING!, playing with a awesome depth and warmth to what is a all time MASTERPIECE of 1960's psychedellia, A STUNNING LISTENING EXPERIENCE!!!.
The original dark matt black TRACK label's are in EX+++ condition, showing little or no wear, all four label's have no unwanted writing, and no scuffs, the spindal holes shows little or no wear, the silver print on the label's are untouched and are as bright and fresh as the day of release, STUNNING label's.
Both vinyl's are housed in their original white polythene lined inner sleeves and in EX+++ condition, lovely and clean, with no unwanted writing, and no seam splits.
Altogether a STUNNING copy of this original 1969 EARLY 2nd press UK double LP by THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE, ELECTRIC LADYLAND, VERY RARE, and VERY HARD TO FIND IN THIS GREAT CONDITION!.
