Description
Up for auction is a beautiful original pressing of the Jimi Hendrix album Rainbow Bridge, originally released in the U.S. on Reprise Records (MS 2040) in 1971:
-Guaranteed original pressing, NOT reissue -STERLING mastering stamp in both run-outs -RL Robert Ludwig mastering mark in both run-outs -Original gatefold cover -Still in opened factory shrink wrap -Original Reprise inner sleeve -No UPC/bar code on cover -NOT a common record club pressing
Note: The cover to Rainbow Bridge was notoriously prone to wear, and it is very difficult to find a copy without ring wear and edge wear without it still being in the original shrink wrap. And copies still in original shrink wrap are very rare because owners wanted to open the gatefold cover to see what's inside. A truly rare bird and must-have!
Condition: Cover is beautifully preserved in the original shrink, no significant wear, just a little bit of rub to a couple corners (see photos). Shrink is intact and still very nice, has a nice shine, no significant tears and no losses. Hard to upgrade! Grade: Excellent (EX)
Vinyl is also in great condition, still has its original glossy shine. No apparent scratches or scuffs, just some faint superficial paper scuffs from taking the vinyl out of paper inner sleeve a couple times. Labels are clean, no marks around spindle holes. Looks like this record has maybe been played only once or twice at most but handled with care. Hard to upgrade. Grade: Excellent (EX)

How I Pack Your Records:
I remove the records with inner sleeves from the covers prior to packing. I sandwich the record between two pieces of cardboard for padding and protection. I also reinforce the corners of the shipping box to protect the corners of the record jacket from damage.
