Description

Mega Rare Original 1968 UK Stereo Track Record 1st Pressing 'Electric Ladyland' by Jimi Hendrix!!! In Absolutely BREATHTAKING Mint Visual & Aural Condition!!! Stunning Near Mint 1st Press Double Thick & Chunky Vinyl!!! Complete with Stunning Near Mint Thickly Laminated E.J. Day Gatefold Sleeve!!! This Record Has Been Archived Almost from New and is Absolutely Pristine!!! Very, Very Rare as a True UK Stereo 1st Pressing and Impossible to Find in Near Mint Condition Throughout!!! Stunning!!!!!!!!!

This is a Beautiful Stone-Cold Near Mint/Near Mint UK 1st Pressing!!!

Here is another gem from my own mostly Nr Mint personal collection (which I am selling off gradually to lessen the pain...) I have been collecting very rare vinyl for a long time now. As a collector, I have been very critical about the condition of the records I have chosen to buy over the years, and only selected the most pristine 1st pressings from all over the UK.  My collection is therefore filled with not only the rarest UK 1st pressings, but also records of the highest grade quality condition, some of the best you will probably ever come across. Sadly, all will be finding new homes in the near future.  I hope you enjoy my listings.

I can say without a shadow of a doubt that you are about to bid on the best 1968 UK Track Record 1st Pressing of 'Electric Ladyland' that you will ever see! Those who regularly watch my auctions will by now know I only offer records of the highest quality and this is no exception, whoever wins this amazing record will be smiling for weeks! Original Track UK pressings of the record are impossible to find in the UK anymore, they dried up a long time ago, and only occasionally come up for sale on eBay. When they do they are usually tatty, with scratched discs and very worn sleeves. There are plenty or Polydor reissues copies about, but as I'm sure you already know by now, the UK Track Record pressing is the only way to own this record, it is the 'Holy Grail' so to speak - raw and loud - straight from the masters!!! However, the problem is that it is just impossible to find in anything approaching this condition anymore. All the Track pressings left in this kind of condition are now locked up in serious record collections and will probably never see the light of day again. However, every once in a blue moon a copy like this comes along... The last copy I had in this condition I sold for over £800 and that was almost 2 years ago! This gives you some indication just how sought-after this record is in this condition... Please check out the detailed description and pictures below as I want to give you every detail of the record, no matter how small. And if you are not sure of anything just ask... Considering the price this will fetch insurance is strongly recommended. I have made this auction private to respect the winners privacy due to the high value of this record. One final word of warning... this auction is set to end on a Sunday evening (UK time). Ebay UK is notoriously glitchy at this time, and often freezes up, so if you are a last second bidder please bear this in mind when bidding. It is far safer to bid a little earlier just to be sure of getting your bid in...

The bottom line is that this will probably be the best example of this record you will ever see, on eBay or anywhere else. The record and sleeve are in stone-cold Near Mint condition (how many times have you ever heard that said about this album?!!! You will not find a better example of this rare record! Please check my feedback to see that I am always accurate with my grading. Like all 1st press Jimi Hendrix LP's on Track, when this album turns up today it almost always has been trashed; in terrible condition with lots of marks & scratches etc. This one IS NOT!!! As it is such a very special record in this kind of condition the bidding will be high, but trust me when I say this is one record well worth pushing the boat out for, you will never see another copy in this condition again. A very serious record indeed and essential for any Near Mint Jimi Hendrix 1st Press collection... Please see below for a detailed overall description...  I accept Paypal as a form of payment from winners outside the UK (I also accept many other forms of payment for non-UK winners - see below) However, I no longer accept Paypal from UK winners as the fees are too extortionate. Therefore payment in the UK must be via cheques, bank transfer, or any other method listed below (if the method you wish to use is not listed please let me know and we will work something out). I repeat, I no longer accept Paypal for UK transactions. Please wait for your invoice to be sent before paying. If you are in the UK and you pay via Paypal you payment will be refunded! Please see my payment options listed below for greater clarity.

1st Press Matrix:

Side A -  613008 A//1 Scratched

Side B - 613009 A//2

Side C - 613009 B//2

Side D - 613008 B//2

As you'd expect, the Cool 1st press matt Track Centre Labels are in superb Near Mint condition!!! There are NO Tears, NO Scribbles. NO lifting or Bubbling and NO unwanted writing of any kind to the centre labels - they are as close to Mint as it is possible to get!!! There is possibly 1 faint wisp of a spindle alignment line on  one or two of the sides but these labels are as Mint as you are ever likely to see! Believe me, these original matt labels were very easily marked by spindles, so to find labels like this is impossible! This record has been played just once before!!!

The cool thick & chunky 1960's 1st press discs are both in beautiful Near Mint condition!!! Copies of this LP only turn up today completely worn out with lots of scratches and gouges - this one is not!!! These 2 discs have a beautiful shine and have that 'just pressed' look and feel. They are visually stunning to look at and are totally blemish free with NO blemishes at all!!! I spent 5 minutes staring at these surfaces in all types of light and cannot see a thing!!! As you would expect, it plays superbly with no nasty loud pops, no jumps and no skips, and none of the constant hiss/crackle so common on all these old track pressings!!!  These discs easily grade as Nr Mint even by my own strict grading standards (most would grade as a straight MINT!!!) Both discs will come shipped to you in replacement white inner sleeves to protect the discs and the original coloured inner sleeves during transit. The original inner sleeves will be safely tucked away inside the gatefold sleeve (which will also be fully protected by being housed in a poly outer sleeve to preserve it's pristine glass like laminate sheen and box like shape!!!)

What can I say about this iconic sleeve that you cannot already see from the pictures below! It is as near to perfect as you will ever see for this original sleeve! This its a truly pristine example of the  classic 1st press thickly laminated E.J. Day Track sleeve!!! The only way I can think to describe it is as 'Box-fresh' This sleeve is in stone-cold mint condition with perfectly preserved laminate, NO Tears, NO Stains, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind - It is completely blemish free!!! When have you ever seen an original Track E.J. Day 'Electric Ladyland' sleeve that looks this good? One of the main reasons these original sleeves look so bad is that when released the controversial artwork caused store owners in the UK to display them folded inside out, so as not to offend the more prudish customers. For this reason you often see them with with very weak spines with cracked spine laminate etc. This one has thankfully never been 'reversed'. It has retained all of its stiffness and box shape. It takes my breath away just looking at it! It is important to understand the impact of this sleeve in the 1960's, it was unlike anything anybody had seen before, and as such it was hugely popular. People ever loved it or hated it (Jimi himself reportedly hated it!) Anyway, due to its popularity, they had a lot of handling and always turn up worn out and with pin holes etc. To find one that has been archived away like this is impossible, trust me on that - I have never see another this good! There are no unwanted writing/scribbles/repairs etc. anywhere on this sleeve - it is completely blemish free! There is the faintest disc impression, but is has not in anyway lead to wear or a dulling of the laminate. it is just a light impression. The laminate retains all its beautiful glossy sheen and NO cracking and NO Lifting anywhere!!! The spine is MINT with a beautiful unbroken laminate sheen!! The spine has NONE of the common laminate cracking!!! The thick laminate is crystal clear and absolutely flawless, in fact is it so pristine it almost is looks 'wet' in appearance (see images below)! I have never seen laminate anywhere near this good on this sleeve before. There is just one tiny 'oxbow-type' laminate crease on the front side but it is totally insignificant. The corners are super-sharp and the edges are completely free from wear!! I can say with a certain degree of confidence that this is without doubt that this is the best example of this legendary sleeve you will ever see. It easily grades as Near Mint condition!!

Importantly, it comes complete with both its original correct poly-lined 'patents' & 'warning' text inner sleeves! Both are in pristine Near Mint condition with no faults at all!!!

A truly breathtaking 1st press example of this rare album, it is the best I have ever seen -  don't miss it!!!

Please check out hazey_jane_records' feedback and bid with confidence as this is a no reserve auction with a very low starting price!  UK 1st press copies of this record in such stunning condition are in very high demand today. If you have never heard it, you will not find another copy that looks or plays more pristinely than this- it will blow you away!!! If you are a collector/investor, the price of this record will just rise and rise. An absolutely essential (and very rare) record to own.

I have made this auction private to respect the winners privacy due to the high value of this record.

It has recently been pointed out to me that some eBay sellers have been using my images without permission. If you are thinking of lifting a picture or two from my pages - don't. You will be reported and your auction will be removed by eBay. It's not that I mind, in fact its kinda flattering, my real problem is that whoever does this is not showing a true image of the actual record they are selling. The condition of old 1960's & 70's records varies greatly, no two are in exactly the same condition when they are this age. All my pictures are very specific to the actual records I sell and it is wholly misleading to to show these images with reference to a different record. Thanks.

I will be selling my entire UK 1st Press collection of 1960/70's Psych/Prog./Beat/Rock & Folk over the coming months, most of these records are in Mint- condition, many having 3 figure book prices. All will be listed here on eBay UK, most with a £2.99 start and No Reserve - bookmark my pages. Like the vast majority of my collection, this record has been archived upright in a thick outer PVC sleeve in a smoke & damp free environment since purchase!

All my records have No reserve, a Low Start and No Surcharges!

Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
