Description
Jimi Hendrix-This Flyer (blank black label, no matrix or catalog number). Cover is VG with light wear, small surface tear on upper front, small sticker stain on back. Record is VG+ with light sleeve scuffs but nothing major, plays great. Early underground issue of informal September 1969 jam session. The first issue of this had a taped note to the cover stating “This Flyer….,” this issue has the same plain black labels but has a sticker on the front with an odd woodcut image and the words “this album listens with a new ear” at top. This album seems to have done brisk mail order business around ’70-’71, and I’m guessing that this is an early alternate issue that dates from about then (though internet information is virtually non-existent on this version). Labels and record are identical to the “This Flyer…” pressing. Surprisingly nice fidelity, considering the source (though rather heavy on the right channel)!
