JIMI HENDRIX-ELECTRIC LADYLAND ORIGINAL PROMO COPY (RECORD ONLY) This is the single LP that was produced by Polydor in 1968 and was designed to be the the 1st part of the Electric Ladyland album on Track which shows the Title Electric Ladyland (part 1). The record number is 613008 . Side one has the track listing that is normally for Side D on the official pressing. The final track which should be Voodoo Chile (slight return) is just Voodoo Chile on the label. Side two is the track listing for official pressed side C. And to top it off the labels are on the wrong sides of the vinyl. The matrix on the vinyls are side 1 61300(9)8 A//1 (9)crossed out by hand . Side 2 is 61300(9)8 B//1 again the (9)crossed out by hand. I have an excellent article written by Tim Greenhall for the magazine Jimpress and appears in edition 95 (I think) which was mailed to me in response to an earlier request for information,and which goes into great detail about this record,why it was produced like this and even has the ultra rare single sleeve and Chris Lamberts letter to the BBC,and should be referred to for this and the Electric Ladyland album as a whole. Below are some pictures of the record and labels above Side 1 label compared to released part 1 label -note different catalogue numbers and track 4 is just Voodoo Chile and not slight return (but of course the labels are on the wrong side and it doesnt play these tracks at all,but the side 2 tracks. above Side 1 label compared to released part 1 label -note different catalogue numbers and type face. above Side 1 label compared to the final double album release side 1 with cat no 613008 -note inverted matrix number above cat.Label now states SIDE A,and track listing is completely different apart from Voodoo Chile above Side 2 label compared to the final double album release side C.Note the cat number is now 613009 with this track listing.
