Far from my usual fare -- I'm strictly into punk & postpunk -- but I'm selling it for an
acquaintance who's reluctantly decided to turn loose of one of the true holy grails for
Buffett fans. He chanced across the record as a cutout nearly 40 years ago at a Woolco
(of all places) in Montgomery, Alabama, & picked it up for the heck of it ... which
of course means he was one of only a few hundred people who did so.
I gave the record a spin on my trusty Pioneer PL-516 this afternoon & heard only an
occasional light, incidental crackle (this is, after all, vintage vinyl, rather than some
soulless CD). Its owner said he played it only a couple of times -- after seeing & hearing
what nice shape it's in, I'll vouch for that.
The jacket is still glossy, with 3 moderately dinged corners & the bottom left corner
gone the way of all cutouts. There's also moderate wear along the leftmost 4 inches
of the bottom edge & the top 2 inches of the spine.
All records packed in plastic sleeves with vinyl
outside jacket & seperated by cardstock, then carefully
secured between sturdy pieces of cardboard
& shipped in custom mailer.
