Swamp Seed is the fifth album by saxophonist Jimmy Heath featuring performances recorded in 1963 originally released on the Riverside label. The multi-talented Heath has many consistently rewarding and distinctive tenor saxophone solos; he also contributed three of the seven pieces and arranged all of them for a group also including trumpeter Donald Byrd, pianist Herbie Hancock, Don Butterfield's tuba and a rhythm section that has bassist Percy Heath and (on three numbers) drummer Albert 'Tootie' Heath. The music is straight-ahead hard bop and contains some unpredictable moments. Highlights include versions of Thelonious Monk's "Nutty" and "More Than You Know."

I will play grade on certain items only - it is just impossible for me to play grade everything I put on EBAY. MINT means factory sealed, never opened or played. NM is opened but in visually brand new, out-of-the-packaging clean condition. NM- is not NM! Its a grade above VG++ and below Near Mint - it does not imply perfect. In my terminology Scratches are feeler type and Scuffs are just cosmetic and usually inaudible.
