Description
JIMMY LINDSAY (& DAMBALA) - Easy / Zimbabwe (Gem / Music Hive) - JA 12" - circa 1978
Very nicely presented original pressing of this rare Gem / Music Hive 12" featuring Jimmy Lindsay's rootical rendition of Lionel Ritchie's Easy backed by Zimbabwe, both of which segue into their dubs. The A-side was produced by Lloyd Coxsone, while Dennis Bovell and Lindsay co-produced the B-side, a H-E-A-V-Y roots killer written by Gus Anyia and featuring his band Dambala. The vinyl retains a very good sheen with a few light superficial surface marks - nothing significant - see descriptions below.
A-side (Easy): There is a tiny amount of intermittent background surface noise - hardly audible in fact - with some tiny and occasional very small pops and clicks. In addition, there is slight background pressing hiss for 30 seconds near the start. Grade - EX- improving to EX-/EX B-side (Zimbabwe): There is a tiny amount of intermittent background surface noise - hardly audible in fact - with some tiny and occasional very small pops and clicks. Grade - EX-/EXLabels: There is a black marker pen block on each label (see scan).
*** More Roots, Dub and Dancehall 7" & 12" singles and LPs will be listed daily over the next few months ***
