Description
JIMMY SMITH “At the Organ/The Incredible, Vol. 3” RVG, P, DG, FR, Blue Note BLP 1525 Mono Vinyl
This is 1956, first edition, “RVG” etched, Flat Rim, Deep Groove, “P” pressing of JIMMY SMITH’s “At the Organ/The Incredible, Vol. 3” on the Deep Groove “767 Lexington Ave” labels of Blue Note BLP 1525. Musicians include Jimmy Smith – organ, Thornel Schwartz – guitar, Donald Bailey – drums.
VINYL plays with consistent very low-level surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with pops and ticks. Very nice overall. Ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong. No distortion. No skips. Good gloss. Numerous hairline marks, none feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The Deep Groove “767 Lexington Ave” labels are clean, spindle wear, some chafing. See photos.
COVER is in good shape. Corners worn. Top and bottom seams taped end to end. Spine shows cracking, splits on each end. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS., 767 Lexington Ave., New York 21” back jacket shows fading, staikns, marks. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
