This is a beautiful EX-graded white-label DEMO of Really Livin’ by the J.J. Johnson Sextet, issued by Columbia in 1959 as catalog CS 8178. This stereo 6-eye pressing features the “DEMONSTRATION • NOT FOR SALE” label, making it significantly rarer than commercial copies and especially desirable for jazz collectors who seek promotional variants.
The album features a top-tier lineup: J.J. Johnson on trombone, Nat Adderley on cornet, Bobby Jaspar on tenor/flute, Cedar Walton on piano, Spanky DeBrest on bass, and Albert “Tootie” Heath on drums.
