JJ PERREY ultra-rare '57 electronic mental inst 1st! LP Shipping Info | S/H info: Description JEAN JACQUES PERREY prelude au sommeil (prelude to sleep) on NO LABEL records (private issue out of france). here is the only copy i've ever seen offered of JJP's landmark 1st ever LP, recorded as a sort of science project for insomniacs and issued only to hospitals and mental institutions. the recording date here is unclear - i've heard it's either from 1953 or 1957. this is two 25 minute sides of ambient electronics performed entirely on the ondioline. the album was issued with and without sleeves (not unlike his other monster rarity "musique electronic du cosmos" and note: i've only ever seen/heard of two copies of that title). this is a blank sleeve version. label reads "procédés dormiphone" which i believe roughly translates to sleep sound procedure. again, this is the only copy of this album i have ever seen offered in 10 years of electronic, moog, exotica and jjp fandom and i highly doubt you will ever see it offered again. i've placed a very reasonable reserve (same price i purchased it for). best of luck. keys: strange, avant garde, experimental, raymond scott "soothing sounds for baby"-vein, etc. see my other auctions for a cool mix of vintage sounds.
