I successfully sold my copy of this great album at the beginning of January - the buyer was highly satisfied, please see my feedback for reference - I have been asked by a friend to sell theirs, so here it is...
Jody Grind 'Far Canal' 1970 UK original vinyl album on the Transatlantic purple label, catalogue number TRA221 (stereo)
The numbers and letters stamped on the vinyl are:- Side One: STRA-221-A1 Side Two: STRA-221-B1
This is a heavy vinyl and it is not warped. Both sides have some light lines and small marks, most likely caused by bag contact, I cannot feel any of them. However, on Side One only, there is a LARGE scuff mark across tracks 1,2 and 3 which I can feel slightly. The scuff mark is not visually pleasing but it has very little affect when the record is played. I can hear a few light ticks from time to time during these tracks but they are certainly not nasty and in fact the audio quality is very impressive all the way through this record. Side Two is exceptionally clean with just a few small marks and it sounds brilliant all the way through with just some light crackle where it can be heard. There are no sticks, no skips, no jumps and even with the large scuff mark, there is little lessening of the sound quality. I think that most people that are buying a record like this to listen to would be more than satisfied.
The track titles can be seen on the label photographs. The labels have some visible spindle lines but not too many and no writing, no damage.
The cover is a standard single sleeve, it is laminated on the front and the spine, folding over on to a flat back, which is not laminated. The laminated front surface has a lot of light creases near the open edge and also a long crease that runs next to the spine from top to bottom. There are also small creases at the edges and a larger one across the bottom right corner - but all of these lay flat and they are not very noticeable. The back is quite well preserved, just a little light rub wear and there is a small circular surface scuff (possibly a sticker removal) in the bottom left corner crossing out the 'T' of Transatlantic. It has been re-coloured black.
The spine is excellent with just a few tiny crease splits, but it is clean and fully readable.
The inner sleeve appears to be the original, cream paper, not lined with 'Made In England' and a patent number on it. It is a little discoloured and creased but fully intact, no seam splits, no tears.
I have checked the Record Collector grading system and I would say that the cover is 'very good' and just because of the scuff I only grade the appearance of the vinyl as 'very good' (without the scuff it would easily be 'excellent') but the audio quality is at least 'very good+' and mainly 'excellent'.
I have described this as carefully and honestly as possible, but it is a no return item so please bid accordingly.
It will be packed in a record mailing box (cruciform) with two pieces of card inside for further protection.
