Description

1971 CJR Records CJR-2, this is an original US pressing - NOT a reissue - of the impossible to find Joe McPhee LP "Nation Time".  Recorded live at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY, McPhee is joined on this 3 song date (the title track is 18 minutes long and takes up all of side 1)  by Mike Kull, Tyrone Crabb, and Bruce Thompson & Ernest Bostic.   Jacket is EX-; it looks NM, but there is a 4" top right corner clear tape repair.  This repair was done by original owner and isn't really that visible unless you're looking for it.   LP is a shiny and clean NM-/EX; there are no scuffs, but there is some age spotting on either side which looks like it may have been a reaction to being stored in the original paper sleeve all these years.   Playback is strong throughout, while labels are crisp with no spindle wear.  An original CJR insert sheet advertising the first 4 releases on CJR is also included in NM condition.   Best (actually, the only) original of this one I have come across.  Buyer pays $7.50 shipping in the US, $18.00 airmail overseas.  I accept Paypal & US Postal Money Orders.  Thanks for looking and good luck!

I have received a few questions about condition of the vinyl regarding age spotting.   The spotting is visible on both sides of the LP; these aren't scuffs and are superficial in nature but still visible under light.  Again, since they are on both sides they seem to have been caused by some reaction with the inner sleeve.  Playback is not affected and is (as noted in the listing) strong throughout.  So, overall I'd say it plays NM-, while visually it is EX/EX-.  I hope this clears up any confusion!
