Alright Im going to have to hype this record a little, cause I really do like it, and I think it has its fans out there waiting to know its charms. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE! This is a post-humous release of basement recordings of Joe Murphree, a West Texas singer songwriter who sadly passed away in a crop dusting plane crash. About half the album is enjoyable in a soft folk vein with sparse additional instrumentation added. There's something kinda strange about the vibe in the whole album, and I can't quite put my finger on it, but there are certainly moments where I pick up on a little of that X-factor that makes us listen more carefully to these kinds of vanity pressings. Listen to the clips. This thing must be rare as heck, cause Ive never seen another!
