Description
"Not of This Earth" is the debut studio album by American rock guitarist Joe Satriani. It was released on December 18, 1986 through Relativity Records. The title track utilizes a unique compositional technique described by Satriani as pitch axis theory, which consists of shifting modes underneath a pedal tone ( in this case, E). "The Enigmatic" uses the enigmatic scale. "Rubina" is one of two tracks named after his wife, the other being "Rubina's Blue Sky Happiness" on "The Extremist" (1992). "The Headless Horseman" is performed entirely using a two-handed tapping technique, and was revisited in the form of "Headless" on "Flying in a Blue Dream" (1989). This is the 1988 US Vinyl "Blue" LP pressing on the Relativity Records label. The catalog # on the spine is: 88561-8110-1. The bar code matrix # is: 88561-8110-1. The record is visually graded by Goldmine standards as Near Mint. There is some wax in the spindle hole, but the LP appears to have been played. The cover is graded as VG++ due to the crease on the front, upper left cover. The spines are fully intact. Record has been stored in a heavy duty anvil case since 2006.
