JOHANNA MARTZY Columbia 33CX 1165 Blue/Gold BRAHMS VIOLIN CONCERTO Philharmonia KLETZKI
This is an opportunity to bid for a flawed copy of a rare LP. The disc was made in Gt. Britain and pressed on the early Columbia blue/gold label (mono). The matrix numbers are: XAX 524-3N & XAX 525-3N. The disc has been cleaned using a VPI professional cleaning machine, courtesy of Really Useful Records, Plymouth – many thanks. The cover is the original flip-back, laminated cardboard sleeve, featuring sleeve notes by Andrew Porter. The inner sleeve is plain white paper (not original).
Condition of Disc
The disc is flat and the playing surfaces show clear signs of wear: faint surface marks, scuffs and one moderate scratch approximately 2cm long at the start of side 1. This particular scratch does not produce regular loud clicks. Centre labels are free of writing, sticky labels or marks. There is negligible wear on the labels around the centre holes. On playback there is some mild background crackle evident during quiet passages and occasional low-level clicks. Overall, I have graded the disc conservatively as VG- (Record Collector).
Condition of Sleeve
The spine of the sleeve is split in the centre and the title of the piece is missing. On the back at the opening edge there is a tear and part of the sleeve (approximately 3cm x 2cm) is missing. The rear sleeve notes are intact and clearly readable. There are no sticky labels or writing. Overall I have graded the sleeve conservatively as G- (Record Collector).
There is no extra charge for packing as I use recycled materials: bubble-wrap and reinforced cardboard etc.

Compensation for loss or damage during delivery:
The standard maximum compensation for loss or damage during delivery is £41, and the delivery costs are quoted on this basis. However compensation up to £500 is normally available at increased cost and will be offered as an option, if the winning bid is larger than the standard compensation value.
