Description

The 25-Year Retrospective Concert of the Music of John Cage (private pressing, 1959)

Incredible 3-LP, private press, limited edition box set of the Town Hall concert of Cage's work, May 15, 1958. George Avakian produced the album. Jasper Johns and Robert Rauschenberg organized the show.

This box contains the 3 LPs, plus the beautifully designed booklet with photos, etc.

Side 2: The Wonderful Widow of Eighteen Springs, She Is Asleep, Duo
Side 3: Sonatas and Interludes (Maro Ajemian, piano)
Side 4: Sonatas and Interludes (Maro Ajemian, piano)
Side 5: Music for Carillon, Williams Mix
Side 6: Concert for Piano and Orchestra (Merce Cunningham, conductor; David Tudor, piano)

Condition:

Box cover: VG+ (a little light wear, but intact and okay!)

Vinyl:

All sides have some marks from being in the sleeve - thankfully they only marginally (if at all) affect play.
Sides 1, 2, 5, 6 - VG+ to EX- (light wear and marks from sleeve)
Sides 3, 4 - VG (some definite wear and either a pressing mark or stain that effects 1st tracks on both sides)
