Label Conditions: Both in jaw-drop, stunning conditions, and this from a record over 44-years-old. Supreme by name, supreme by nature,  One of the greatest albums ever issued and not just in the jazz field, in the most breathtaking condition for its age, including the cover.

Stereo copies are rarer still, this was still the era of the mono record. The price guides are a joke, they almost suggest you can find practically Mint copies of mid-60s records at a whim – well hardly – most seen are trashed and played into destruction. To find a genuine masterpiece in recording history that still looks new is immensely difficult and few will even get close to this almost perfectly preserved example. Brief Info: Arguably the greatest jazz saxophonist ever and this was his masterpiece. An album that introduced many a listener to the genre and a hugely spiritual experience. I do not offer jazz records often, so when I do so, it’s a joy to offer possibly the greatest one ever made. Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue is certainly a contender also. A highly uplifting work in four segments with supreme playing from the saxophone master. Mostly melodic and beautifully recorded with fantastic real stereo sound, incredible UK pressing. The details, pace and rhythm of this work still astonishes and here, Coltrane is on a spiritual high. This line-up remained Coltrane’s classic quartet and just listen to the incredible drumming of Jones that weaves around Coltrane’s fluid tenor reed structures. What a copy this is too, I am actually questionning my own sanity in even offering this, it’s so hard sometimes offering such brilliance in such stunning condition for its age. Both record and cover are in very good condition and this simply blow away their age. A jazz album ALL music lovers will cherish, even rock fans – this is a fine copy and I am delighted (if a little crazy), even priviledged to offer it. This seriously rare in any condition great album. was issued back in 1966.
Cover Grade and Format: vg++ hardly does this justice. A single format with front laminate. This wraps around the closed edges and ends on three rear external flipbacks. This is a dedicated and correct stereo cover as can be seen on the front. Printed and made in England by Garrod & Lofthouse and includes the ‘Patents pending’ text.
Lamination & Front: This looks superb with laminate ultra clear, clean and fresh with barely any traces of friction marks or dulling, even under light. All fully adhered with no lifting and barely any creasing. Just a couple of tiny burr traces on the right opening edge and this being critical on any cover this tremendous age. You want the classics in beautiful condition?, look no further.
Cover Back: The back is equally stunning with barely any traces of grubbiness, marks or ageing. Still very white, fresh with no rubbing or ringwear. Even under light, there is barely a scuff or mark to be seen and this sets a massively high standard. The flipbacks are still solidly stuck with only a small few faint hairlines but with slight burring & grime-lines to their ends. Still incredibly white with no yellowing or toning spots. Simply stunning and the perfect complement to the outstanding front.
Top Edge: Unworn and unscuffed, quite thin.
Bottom Edge: Practically as made.
Right Edge(s), and Type: Clean, quite sharp with little wear and very little feathering or trimming. Mild burr traces seen mostly when viewed end-on. Record enters on this edge.
Spine and Text: very little ware,check pictures Corners: Any tip rubs are tiny and faint and all retain excellent or better shape.
Cover Summary: A truly wonderful all-round example of this classic jazz cover, one that will prove immensely difficult to find better. This beautiful item should please most-all collectors, even the highly discerning.
The Inner Sleeve: This came with a heavy duty plain white polylined inner. The only real clues to age is glue darkening on the seams with all remain fully intact with no repairs.  This inner is almost as well preserved as the record and cover.
