Description
Artist: JOHN COLTRANE
Title: “The John Coltrane Quartet Plays”
Year: 1965

Art Davis – bass (added for “Nature Boy”).
Label: IMPULSE. Stereo pressing on medium weight vinyl. Label is red and black with black text, does not have deep groove. Catalog number is AS-85.
“VAN GELDER” is stamped in the dead wax of each side.
Condition:
DISC: Vinyl is EXCELLENT with full original gloss. Has been played a small number of times and handled with care. There are a couple slight hairline paper scuffs but no serious or audible marks or problems. Labels are clean, except name of original owner “L.E. MCCURDY” is neatly stamped on both sides. Plays beautifully with superb fidelity.
JACKET: Laminated gatefold jacket is nice VG++. Front panel is clean, with just a hint of surface wear. Reverse is clean except for two spots where pink candle wax drops have melted on (barely noticeable - see photo). Nice seams and spine. Trace of wear at corner tips. Inside gatefold is clean, except name of original owner “L.E. MCCURDY” is stamped at the upper right corner.
Top of right panel states “A PRODUCT OF ABC-PARAMOUNT RECORDS, INC. No writing, stickers, or cutout indications. Overall a very presentable jacket to accompany the superb disc.
