Very scarce and excellent vintage jazz LP featuring JOHN COLTRANE on the PRESTIGE label, from 1957.

Title is “Coltrane.” 

Monaural pressing, Bergenfield, New Jersey address on label and jacket.  Catalog number is PRLP 7105.  

Record is medium thick vinyl, with deep groove. 

Label address on both sides is "Prestige Records, Inc., 203 South Washington Ave., Bergenfield, N.J.” 

Matrix number is hand-etched, “RVG” is machine stamped in trailoff vinyl.  Jacket states "For free catalog send to PRESTIGE RECORDS, INC., 203 So. WASHINGTON AVE., BERGENFIELD, N.J.” on reverse at bottom. 

Personnel consist of the following:  Johnny Splawn – trumpet, 1, 4, 5, 6;  John Coltrane – tenor sax;  Sahib Shihab – baritone sax, 1,4,6;  Mal Waldron – piano, 4, 5, 6;  Red Garland – piano, 1, 3;  Paul Chambers – bass;  and Albert "Tootie" Heath – drums.

Jacket:   Jacket is overall in excellent shape, with a couple very minor flaws.  Shows minor wear spots at corners, and has writing (price information) and a small sticker with name and address of original owner on reverse at top left.  Overall a beautiful jacket you will be proud to display. 

Vinyl:  Vinyl is very clean, grades nice VG+ to VG++ with full original gloss.  There are a few light hairlines that do not affect the playing, no serious marks and virtually no wear.  Fidelity is excellent.  This is a very nice playing copy of this hard-to-find gem. 

Guaranteed to be authentic and original.  I do not sell bootlegs or modern reissues.
