Per Wikipedia, John Aloysius Fahey was an American fingerstyle guitarist and composer who played the steel-string acoustic guitar as a solo instrument.  Self-taught, Fahey borrowed from the folk and blues traditions in American roots music.  Following the fulfillment of his two-album contract with Reprise Records and lackluster sales, Fahey was released from Reprise and went back to recording for his own Takoma label.  Fare Forward Voyagers (Soldier's Choice) was released in 1973.  Fahey originally dedicated the album to Swami Satchidananda, but later said the primary reason was that he was in love with the Swami's secretary.  The recording up for bid is a rare first edition released on the Takoma label that was labeled a Promotional recording-NOT FOR SALE.  It contains three songs, one comprising a complete side of the original LP.  It has a run time of 44+ minutes.
The cover is in VG+ condition with very mild wear on the corners.  There are no split seams, tears or bent corners.  There is mild disc wear on the back cover.  The paper inner sleeve is original and intact.  Per Discogs, inside the first issue of the album there was a 4-page pamphlet entitled “Yogaville West,” which, we were informed, was “a growing spiritual community in the beautiful mountains of Lake County, Northern California.” Surmounting three pictures of the community was the following message:  “I would like to introduce you to this healthy, spiritually based concept of living. The 46 people living here follow the ideals of Integral Yoga as taught by Swami Satchidananda. To the extent that I have practised these techniques, they really seem to work. – John Fahey.”  It, and a notice from Takoma Records, is also enclosed along with the pamphlet.  The recording has been cleaned and tested using Audacity and all tracks played through without any skipping of the tracks.  The is minimal background noise consisting of mild "clicks" noted: one "click" on Side 1, track 1 and several "clicks" on the 23+ minute track on Side 2.  IMHO, the clicks are random and do not significantly detract from the music.  The record surfaces show no sign of scratches or scuffs to the eye or to the touch.  The labels are very clean and intact and the record surfaces are still shiny.
