JOHN GOULD LP - AUTOGRAPHED Fastest Hound Dog in the State of Maine Shipping | Payment | About Us | Grading Terms | Guarantee Description EXTREMELY RARE! AUTOGRAPHED ON FRONT COVER BY JOHN GOULD - THE FASTEST HOUND DOG IN THE STATE OF MAINE. Voiced by John Gould and Newt Hinckley. Friendship Academy of Folklore NS-2061 LP record album. Maine humor courtesy of Maine author John Gould and Newt Hinckley. Gould re-creates on vinyl his 1953 fable of a man who buys a dog because the rabbits have long legs. This dog has longer legs than the rabbit and so is capable of beating the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad at its own game. Maine and New England culture is rich in history and folklore. A handful of humorists and storytellers over the past few decades have captured the Maine mystique with recorded tales and anecdotes of life in the Pine Tree state. While these records have been regionally available (mostly these days at yard sales and flea markets), they have not been nearly as accessible to audiences "from away" as a Mainer might say. If you already know Maine, you will appreciate it even more after listening to one of these records. If you don't know Maine, this is a great place to start!
