Description

An interesting issue from John Lee coupling 'Boogie chillen' with a Sylvester Cotton cut 'I tried' albeit not credited on the label.Cotton only had one other 78 issued on Sensation. Both sides here are effectively vocal and guitar performances. It seems as though the version of 'Boogie' on this issue is the same as that on Modern 20-627 edited with some added echo on the vocals and was presumably issued much later judging by the 1926 matrix number which ties in with others used around 1952 as opposed to the original issue which was in 1948.  I leave you to do the comparisons!
