John Lennon - 'Whatever Gets You Thru The Night / Beef Jerky'. R 5998

John Lennon 1974 UK 1st Apple DEMO pressing of the 'Whatever Gets You Thru The Night / Beef Jerky' 7" single. Released on the 4th October 1974, and offered here in WONDERFUL EXCELLENT+ condition.

These initial pre-release demo pressings would have usually been given out to important reviewers or radio stations. Released on the Apple label both sides state DEMO RECORD NOT FOR SALE and the release date of 4.10.74. The vinyl is housed within the original Apple Records sleeve. A wonderful example of this rare demo issue from John.

The Matrix numbers are: (Note the additional two 'TT' digits on the a-side, quite unusual).

Side 1. TT 7YCE 21749-1U 1 G

Side 2. 7YCE 21750-1U 1 G TONE

The vinyl is in EXCELLENT+ condition.

Both labels are in MINT- condition.

The sleeve is in VERY GOOD+ condition.
