Personnel: John Lennon (vocals, whistling, guitar, piano); Ted Turner, Rod Linton, John Tout, Joey Badfinger, Tommy Badfinger (acoustic guitar); George Harrison (dobro); Nicky Hopkins (piano); King Curtis (saxophone); John Barnam (harmonium, vibraphone); Klaus Voorman, Steve Brendell (bass, maracas); Alan White, Jim Keltner, Jim Gordon (drums, tibetian cymbals); Mike Pinder (tambourine). Considered together, Imagine and its startling predecessor John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band paint a vivid picture of the state of John Lennon immediately post Beatles. If John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band found John working out his hitherto repressed feelings about childhood and stardom, then the abiding impression of Imagine is John's one certainty in this storm of doubts and recrimination, his love for Yoko. "Jealous Guy," with its peerless vocal and a spot-on arrangement for strings, is sublime. "Oh My Love" is all delicacy and melodiousness. "Oh Yoko!" is a celebratory finale with none of the cloying self-obsession of John and Yoko's home movies. And on two other songs where Yoko is not the dominant theme, she is nevertheless invoked through the "oh no, oh no" refrain. That's not to say that love songs predominate. Half of the material covers similar terrain to John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band, but now there is hope and even light-heartedness. "Crippled Inside" is leavened by its country stylings including Dobro, courtesy of George Harrison, who also spices up two of the album's pivotal tracks, "Gimme Some Truth" and "How Do You Sleep?"

Condition of Vinyl:- Both sides of the disc have minimal signs of use only , just a few ' in and out of the liner sleeve ' surface traces evident beneath a light...........what is remarkable about this disc is the sound quality.......Imagine is a notoriously difficult album to find for actual playing......this copy plays through beautifully , with barely any noise or between track surface presence : Graded Visually at EXCELLENT+ , Aurally 99% MINT condition.

Label Condition:- No wear at all , just a trace of spindle use evident : MINT minus condition.

Condition of Sleeve:- Laminated original , with 'pinched' manufacturing feature top and bottom of spine

Front: Beautifully crisp and bright , no edge or corner wear at all , there are just a few very small , light crease traces only (Very Small) EXCELLENT+ condition.

Rear: Same asthe front , very mild ring impression only EXCELLENT+ condition.

Awsome!!, padded out with grossly long winded descriptions , many of the 'experts' who use this method of selling also add technical information , which is totally unfounded and incorrect to actual facts , and would be laughable , but for the fact that it is misleading........ I take time and care to grade items correctly and only list quality records, with concise and accurate grading descriptions......................

I have been a lifelong music fan , my first concert visit was in 1957 (Birmingham Town Hall Skiffle Contest!) and have bought records of all the great music since 1959 , and had the privelege of seeing most of the great artists live too (I saw The Beatles twice........and Segovia!)
